About the role
We have a full-time permanent position (40 hours/week) available for an exceptional, forward thinking senior nurse who is currently working in a tertiary NICU and is flexible, resilient and can manage a busy workload.
The Nurse Specialist Intern - Newborn, Starship Child Health is an advanced nursing practice role and is responsible for providing specialist clinical care and coordination of care for infants within Newborn Services in Starship Child Health. This role is specifically an intern role for the preparation of Nurse Practitioner Child and Youth (Newborn) attainment.
About the Service
Starship Newborn Services is a multidisciplinary team specialising in caring for newborn babies with medical, surgical and complex health needs. The team includes Neonatologists, Paediatric Registrars, Neonatal Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Specialists, and Allied Health Therapists. We work alongside the National Women’s Obstetric and Maternity Services and Starship Paediatric services. We are also part of the Maternal & Fetal Medicine Network.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role
- have a minimum of 4 years Neonatal care experience
- have obtained or working towards an approved clinical Master’s degree
- have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Minimum Level 4 practice.
