About the Role
Applications are invited for Paediatric Medical registrars on the general paediatric roster offering rotations in General Paediatrics, Child Development and Child Protection and Level 3 NICU.
Basic and advanced trainees are welcome, and have the opportunity to be involved in the Auckland FRACP training programme.

About the Team/Service
Te Whatu Ora – Waikato District is one of New Zealand’s largest tertiary and secondary healthcare providers. We provide tertiary services to a region of 900,000 and secondary services to a local district of 375,000, including a growing population of 82,000 children under the age of 15. This gives us the critical mass to be able to offer significant subspecialty exposure whilst still maintaining a breadth of general paediatric experience. Our paediatric medical team of 17 Paediatricians & 23 basic, advanced trainees and 2 fellows is the foundation of a multidisciplinary paediatric unit including a child development& child protection service, paediatric surgery and a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. We have a strong emphasis & excellent reputation in teaching & training, and are committed to the ongoing growth and development of our trainees. Those with research interests enjoy on campus support from the University of Auckland’s Waikato Clinical School & the hospital’s Clinical Audit Support Unit. We are looking for enthusiastic Paediatric registrars committed to team-based patient-centred care.

About you
As a Paediatric Medicine Registrar, you will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Vocational registration in a medical speciality
- Eligible to work in New Zealand, with a practising certificate from the Medical Council of NZ
