Charge Nurse, Vascular Transplant and Upper GI

- Exciting Senior Nurse Opportunity to join our Perioperative team on a full-time basis: 40 hrs/week, based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland
- Location -Auckland City Hospital, Theatres, Level 8
- Bring your expertise, staff management, clinical and leadership skills to this great team. You need to be a master in relationship building and liaising with a multi-disciplinary group.
About the Role
In this fulltime role, you will be leading a highly specialised nursing team, working closely with the other Adult and Emergency Theatre Service Charge Nurses and liaising with other multi-disciplinary groups to ensure efficient theatre utilisation and a high-quality surgical journey for both adult and paediatric patients.
You will collaborate with other senior health professionals for the day-to-day co-ordination of elective and acute workload across level 8 OR’s. You will enjoy overseeing the day-to-day theatre sessions of your specialties, organising a team of nurses, healthcare assistants and the relevant clinical resources while achieving demanding goals, efficient, compassionate, and equitable health outcomes in a safe patient and work environment.

About You
You will ideally be an experienced senior Registered Nurse with leadership experience in a tertiary hospital preferably within operating rooms. You will have excellent communication skills and will be a driver of quality improvement initiatives with the focus on patient safety and excellence in delivery of care.
To apply for this role you must have:
- Advanced clinical practice knowledge – at least 5 years of operating room experience, with strong knowledge and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to providing excellent care
- Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing practice to achieve these
- Ability to provide coaching and address performance issues
- Strong accountability for resource and budget management
- Current NZ Nursing Council Registration and an annual practicing certificate
- A commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Ideally, you will have completed or working towards a post-graduate qualification.
