About the Role.
A position as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Theatre's PACU offers a rewarding opportunity to provide critical care to patients recovering from surgery.
In this role, you'll monitor vital signs, manage pain, assess recovery from anesthesia, and collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure safe, effective post-operative care. The PACU environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. It’s an ideal opportunity for RNs seeking to specialize in perioperative care, with the potential for career advancement and personal satisfaction in making a direct impact on patient recovery.

About you
To be successful for the role, you will have/ be
You are an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse ready to hone your acute skills and critical decision making. You would have a minimum of twelve months acute or critical patient care experience post NZ registration and be able to use electronic health records. Vital skills we seek are excellent communication, documentation, critical thinking, and decision making for patient care plans based on previous work experience.
About the Team
Level 8 PACU Auckland City Hospital provides postoperative care for critically ill patients who have experienced severe illness or trauma and require rapid intervention, complex monitoring, assessment, and care planning. Our thirteen operating theatres provide 24/7 surgical care for planned care and acute general surgery, urology, vascular, orthopaedics, trauma, and neurosurgery adult and paediatric patients.
Joining our team will enable you develop your clinical skills, knowledge, and expertise as we are a very supportive, great at sharing our experience and keen to help you achieve your professional goals. We will assist you with furthering your postgraduate study and career progression on PDRP.
