About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager you will play a key role in shaping patient-centred care, improving outcomes, and driving innovation in a dynamic clinical environment.
This role requires strong clinical leadership to manage the daily operations of a busy, complex ward. You will coordinate staffing, oversee patient care, lead multidisciplinary collaboration, and support continuous service improvement. The role requires high levels of resilience and adaptability to manage evolving patient needs, staffing challenges, and unexpected situations – all while maintaining high standards and a positive ward environment.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Ward 2A is a 30-bed unit situated within Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth. The unit focusses on Older Peoples Health Rehabilitation and Stroke services.

About you
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager with excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a significant clinical foundation, which includes Rehabilitation and Stroke management experience. A motivational leadership style with the ability to build a cohesive team and facilitate service development is essential.
Preferred candidates will have:
· At least five (5) years of Stroke management and Rehabilitation experience
· Registered Nurse registration with Nursing Council New Zealand with current Annual Practicing Certificate
· Desire to make a difference in our community
· Masters qualification or PG Diploma and working towards Masters
· Current senior PDRP portfolio or expert portfolio and working towards senior.
· Must have leadership experience
· Leadership qualification or commitment to commence leadership qualification within 12 months
· Currently working within the New Zealand health system
