About the Role
Come join our great team working in the Production kitchen at Waikato Hospital where you will gain valuable experience in our busy and fast paced kitchens.
Details - 40 hours per week (1FTE). 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift. Hours between 6am – 8.30pm
Food preparation experience and a food safety qualification are desirable but not essential. If you are reliable and are willing to learn, we will teach you the skills you need to do the job.
You will be responsible for task like;
- Assisting the cooks prepare meals for our patients, cafes and Meals on Wheels recipients
- Weighing ingredients
- Sandwich making
- Serving meals on the trayline
- Pot washing & cleaning

About you
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
- extremely reliable and with a great attendance record
- The ability to work within a team
- High standard of personal presentation
- The ability to work rostered shifts and duties, between 6am & 8.30pm. (It may include weekends & public holidays. Your role/hours will be confirmed on offer).
