About the Role
This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of older people in Tairawhiti. Te Ara Tiaki Pakeke, Healthy Ageing service has been established to work in collaboration with older people, their whanau, health stakeholders, and the wider community to enable older people to get access to health services and supports which enable them to “live well, age well and have a respectful end of life in age-friendly communities”. This nursing role reports directly to the Service Manager and is critical to the functioning of the service.
This role works across inpatient and community settings with a focus on assessing patients for Home and Community Support Services in their homes. This could include personal cares, home help and rehabilitation provisions in the patient's home. The role coordinates a team of well-trained and supported Allied Health Assistants who carry out the tasks you assign them.
The remuneration range for this role is $75,773 - $106,739 and is covered by the collective agreement: NZNO HNZ Collective Agreement 31 March 2023 - 31 October 2024

Position Description | Registered Nurse
About you
· A minimum of two years of Nursing experience
· Experience with coordination and scheduling
· Excellent oral and record-keeping skills
· Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
· Competency with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth (mandatory)
· Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings. (mandatory)
· Having an empathetic and friendly disposition is vital as is an excellent approach to problem solving, the ability to organise and to remain calm under pressure.
· Experience working in InterRAI and clinical portal is desirable but training will be provided
· Candidates must be registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council and have a current annual practicing certificate.
