Salary - Starting from $72,074 - $86,719 as per the PSA Allied, Public Health,
Scientific and Technical collective agreement

About the Role
- Permanent role working alongside our Physiotherapists in the Specialist Mental Health Service;

- Previous experience in a similar therapy assistant role with a good understanding of health is essential;
- A background of physical activity, sports or group coaching is desired, with a passion for engaging people in exercise and movement.
We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant, ideally with previous experience in a hospital inpatient setting to join us at the Hillmorton Hospital Site as part of our Physiotherapy team. This is an exciting opportunity to refine your skills as a Physiotherapy based Assistant and develop your career in healthcare! Your area of work will be at Hillmorton Hospital across different wards, working with people who have injuries, and various levels of physical health and activity needs.
There will be a significant amount of group exercise work and mobilisation of patients so experience in an inpatient setting or in a previous exercise-based role is essential. Hours for the successful applicant can be negotiated between Monday to Friday 0800 - 1630.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting your Physiotherapist colleagues in delivering treatment and rehabilitation plans in a hospital setting;
- Facilitating group exercise sessions
- The setting out of equipment in preparation for physiotherapy sessions or meetings as required;
- The maintenance and monitoring of supplies and equipment within the department.
- There will be opportunities for upskilling and continuing education in exercise-based interventions.

- Dedication to continued learning and striving for the best patient outcomes;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to follow direction;
- Flexibility with the ability to work in a variety of ward areas with different teams from day to day;
- Previous experience in a similar therapy assistant role with a good understanding of health is essential.
