About the Role
An opportunity has arisen an experienced Registered Nurse with acute community mental health experience to join the Acute Response Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Acute Response Team is a 24/7 service providing an urgent response to mental health crisis. The position is based in Rotorua but will incorporate service delivery in the Taupo & Turangi area.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will contribute to nursing knowledge and skills in assessment of health needs, planning and delivery of nursing care, ensuring this aligns with Te Ara Tauwhirotanga (Model of Care for Mental Health and Addiction Services) & the Mental Health & Addiction (MH&A) Nursing Strategy principles. Within the acute care setting the focus is to work alongside tāngata whai ora and whānau to achieve maximum health potential that is meaningful to them.
Aspects of the role is an:
- ability to demonstrate/role model safe, quality nursing practise that is evidence based and reflects best practise.
- ability to lead and work on Quality Improvement Projects/Initiatives to ensure better outcomes for clients.
- ability to provide advanced assessment and support staff managing complex care needs in a community setting
- ability to undertake audits to identify gaps and improve practice
- ability to engage in contemporary practice and quality initiatives for improved outcomes
- with an equity focus, ability to achieve improved outcomes for Māori accessing care

About you
You must be a New Zealand Registered nurse eligible to work in Mental Health and have a current APC with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in an acute mental health setting. Ideally, you will hold a post graduate mental health nursing qualification at Masters level or be working towards that.
Salary range
$114,025 to $121,444
