Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Fixed term for 24 months, Part Time (0.4 FTE / 16 hours per week)
Salary: As per MECA, Steps 3 - 8 ($88,627 - $110,210)

About the Role
We are looking for a Speech-Language Therapist (SLT) to join our thriving team of 18 SLTs who work across paediatric and adult caseloads in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings. Our SLT team at Wellington Regional Hospital is comprised of 11 therapists, supported by both a team leader and a professional leader. The successful applicant will be required to diagnose and treat adult patients with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. The caseload will include acute adult inpatients with both medical and surgical diagnoses. There may be an opportunity in the future for additional hours across Capital and Coast services. Experience in VFSS and FEES would be beneficial, but not essential. The post-holder will represent SLT on multi-disciplinary teams. About you
- The ideal applicant will have at least three years - experience working adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, preferably in an acute inpatient setting. However, candidates who can demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills, the ability to work independently and to quickly build strong working relationships will be considered.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills are a must.
- Experience in videofluoroscopy and/or flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing are desired.
- You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to culturally safe practice that supports health equity for our patients and upholds our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- You will be a member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association (NZSTA).
