Clinical Director TMT - Regional Transport

About the Role
Te Manawa Taki requires a retrieval and transport service that utilises a central coordination centre to manage retrievals and transports whilst maintaining an oversight of patient movement. The Regional Clinical Director – Transport Services will join the team managing this project to achieve a fully operational Te Manawa Taki Transport Service.
Once operational the Regional Clinical Director will lead service direction, improvements and actively advocate for equity. This requires innovative models of retrieval/transport, service specific standards, policies and guidelines to ensure best-practice clinical standards are achieved.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Regional Clinical Director – Transport Services will report to the Operations Director, Waikato Integrated Operations Centre, together these services will be accountable for the development of a stand-alone dedicated retrieval and transport service.
This is a regional position which will be based at Waikato Hospital, with a focus on the Te Manawa Taki area, which represents Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Taranaki, and Hauora Tairawhiti.
While the primary location is Waikato hospital, there may be flexibility to negotiate the option of working from another Te Manawa Taki base.
About you
- Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand with the scope of practice: Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Anaesthesia.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of the pre-requisites for safe, efficient and budget effective service design and implementation.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- It is desirable that you have experience working at a senior level in an aeromedical or road transport service.
- It is desirable you hold a suitable tertiary qualification in aeromedical retrieval and transport.
