Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are excited to advertise two paediatric speech-language therapy roles in our team. There is scope to flex from part time to full time for the successful applicant/s.

Applicants with the following skills and experience are strongly desired:
- Several years - experience working in paediatric feeding
- Experience independently managing an inpatient and outpatient caseload
- Work experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)
- Paediatric videofluoroscopy +/- FEES competencies.
Applicants with the following skills and experience will be considered, depending on skill mix:
- Post graduate paediatric feeding experience
- A high level of enthusiasm for paediatric feeding
- A willingness to learn and proven ability to upskill.
This role requires close working with other Allied Health, nursing and medical teams, the ability to work as part of a team is essential to this role. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of pēpi with a wide range of feeding and swallowing disorders. There is opportunity to support students of different professions, and to work with the child development service and our Regional Paediatric Feeding Kaiako to grow the paediatric service and ensure high quality care for our pēpi and their whānau.

Moū - About you
You will have experience working with children with feeding difficulties and with complex medical conditions in a range of paediatric inpatient and outpatient settings. You will be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and good communication skills. The ability to work independently and to quickly build strong working relationships is essential in this environment.
You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to culturally safe practice that supports health equity for our patients and upholds our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
You will be a registered member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association (NZSTA).
