Te Ara Tiaki Pakeke, Healthy Ageing service has been established to work in collaboration with older people, their whanau, health stakeholders, and the wider community to enable older people to get access to health services and supports which enable them to “live well, age well and have a respectful end of life in age-friendly communities”. This administration role reports directly to the Service Manager and is critical to the functioning of the service.

About the Role
This is a permanent full-time role, 40 hours per week Monday – Friday based in the Te Ara Tiaki Pakeke office, located on the Gisborne Hospital Campus
Key functions of the role include reception duties, referral receiving and entry, ACC claim identification, communicating across internal and community stakeholders, scheduling meetings and taking minutes, and general administrative duties.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of older people in Tairawhiti.
The remuneration range for this role is $70,970 - $78,397 and is covered by the collective agreement: PSA Clerical

The ideal applicant should possess
- Minimum of one year experience in a hospital-based administration role
- Proven knowledge of all Windows-based applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise appropriately
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- A positive attitude to go the extra mile to assist others
- Competency with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
- A 'can do" attitude
- Ability to navigate and welcome change as the service continues to grow and develop
- Ability to engage with different team members, patients and whanau
- High trust and reliability
