About the Role
Are you passionate about rehabilitation?
Are you an enthusiastic New Zealand registered physiotherapist ready to join our multi-disciplinary team in a fixed term role (for up to one year) covering maternity leave. This role is within our Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R) unit at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our inpatient AT&R unit caters for people with a variety of acute and long term conditions ranging from elective orthopaedic procedures to neurological conditions and complex discharge planning.
Our dynamic and supportive Allied Health Service is passionate about:
- Engaging people and their whanau in care so they can take control of their health and well being
- Setting up consumers to effectively manage long-term conditions or acute illness from hospital
- Helping people to develop or adapt their skills, strengths and abilities
- Innovation and change for better patient outcomes
About you
The ideal candidate will have passion for rehabilitation, promoting and utilising person focussed goal setting, excellent communication skills and the ability to support and develop others.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- Current New Zealand Registration
- A minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience is essential, and knowledge of rehabilitation principles, including neuro rehab is highly desirable.
- Flexible with an ability to work autonomously and within both interprofessional and multidisciplinary styles as needed.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
