Allied Health Expert Physiotherapy - Acute Respiratory
We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Allied Health Expert in Acute Respiratory, available as a secondment opportunity through to 30 June 2025. This part-time role (0.4 FTE, 16 hours per week) provides a unique chance to apply your expertise in acute respiratory care while supporting the ongoing development of our services. You - ll play a pivotal role in contributing to the strategic direction of Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, focusing on improving patient outcomes through clinical leadership, service improvement, education, and research.
As an Allied Health Expert, you will contribute to clinical governance, enhance equity in service delivery, and support the development of a capable, diverse workforce. You - ll be working within an innovative, collaborative environment aimed at transforming care and improving outcomes for tāngata whaiora and their whānau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex clinical caseload and provide expert clinical advice, consultation, and support to staff
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based policies and strategies to improve patient care and service delivery
- Foster the growth of a diverse and capable Kaiāwhina workforce, delivering training and education in clinical and non-clinical areas, and promoting inter-professional collaboration
- Lead and participate in research activities, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and outcomes
- Uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and support equitable outcomes for Māori, ensuring culturally responsive care across all activities
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Skills and Experience:
- Post-graduate qualification or further relevant training in your specialty area
- Advanced clinical experience and expertise, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership, clinical supervision, and staff development experience
- Experience in service improvement, quality assurance, and research activities
- Expertise in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and care program development
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
- Ability to analyse and assess clinical data to inform decision making
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to maintain optimism in challenging situations
- Strong commitment to professional development and a growth mindset
