Sexual Health Education Unit Coordinator
- Join the Sexual Health Education Unit at Te Toka Tumai as the Team Coordinator
- Permanent, part Time role up to 0.8FTE (32 hours per week)
- Ideally located at Greenlane Clinical Centre
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Auckland Sexual Health Service (www.ashs.org.nz ) is a multidisciplinary regional service covering all aspects of sexual health care and support. The Coordinator (Sexual Health Education Unit) provides day to day leadership and co-ordination of the Sexual Health Education Team in addition to providing community sexual health education and promotion as a member of the team. The key areas of focus for this role are:
- Leadership and coordination of day to day activities of the Sexual Health Education Team
- Programme coordinator and mentor for the Peer Sexuality Support (PSSP) Programme within a variety of secondary schools in the Auckland regional area
- Attendance at and delivery of three PSSP Hui’s each year
- Delivery of high-quality sexual health education and promotion events for priority populations and those agencies, organisations or supporting services engaging with them, including; training institutes, tertiary providers, schools, community organisations and iwi based providers within the Auckland regional area.
- Coordination of sexual health community testing targeting priority populations

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
To be successful in this role:
- Degree in Public Health/Health Promotion or relevant Advanced certificate/diploma qualifications at national Qualification Framework level 5 or higher e.g. Health Promotion, Public Health, Youth work, Education.
- Current full car drivers license
- At least two years of relevant work experience in an area of Health Promotion.
- Experience in a PSSP programme (or similar)
- A flexible, pro-active approach with advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective facilitation skills and programme management experience
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective self-management, time management and organisational skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and clinical applications
