Team Leader - Allied Health Therapies

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and clinically experienced registered Allied Health clinician to join our well established and fantastic team. About the Team/Service/ Location
Te Whata Moanarua, Allied Health Therapies service is based out of the Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings. The service has Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech & Language Therapy; Dietitians & Allied Health Assistants and is made up of a number of different Allied Health Therapies Services including but not limited to:
- Acute and Rehabilitation MDT Inpatient Teams – both adults and paediatrics
- ORBIT Front Door Emergency Department MDT Team
- Physiotherapy Outpatients
- Hand Therapy
- Equipment Home Loan Store

About you
This Team Leader position is one of four and provides operational management and support to our Inpatient Rehabilitation and Neuro multidisciplinary therapies team. The role is well supported and works very closely with the Manager, three other AH Team Leaders and is backed by the Clinical Professional Leads. This is a wonderful opportunity to further develop or apply your leadership and management skills in a well-supported environment while influencing and being able to support high quality patient centred care.
To be successful in this role,
- You’ll be someone who has shown leadership skills and taken opportunities to lead.
- You must have a relevant clinical background with a current NZ practising certificate and come with a good understanding of Allied Health and the NZ health sector.
- We are looking for someone who is a team player with excellent communication, and that values the diversity across our workforce and the disciplines within the service.
- You have passion and can provide evidence of quality improvement initiatives.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
