Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is the largest region in New Zealand with two acute admitting hospitals at North Shore and Waitakere sites. The Cardiology Department is working to provide more efficient and effective services to meet the increased demands of the population.
The Echocardiography Department has a full time vacancy, 2.5 year fixed term contract for a Trainee Cardiac Sonographers. Entry level into the Trainee Cardiac Sonographer role is successful completion of a Health-based Science or Imaging undergraduate degree, or a RN with Cardiology experience, and a proven high level of academic achievement and patient care.
The successful applicant will be someone who has an interest in Cardiac Ultrasound. They will need to be capable of, and keen to undertake self-directed study at a Post Graduate level. They will be hard working, and would have shown a commitment for providing excellence in patient care and a drive to succeed professionally. They will have excellent communication skills, the ability and maturity to work in stressful situations and to be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
