Where you’ll be working: Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions Services
Details: Permanent Full time – 44 hours per week (42.5 hours per week (office hours) and 1.5 hours (averaged after- hours component)
Remuneration: ASMS ECA
- This role offers great variety. You will work with a number of specialists both internally and externally and have the ability to maintain excellent working relationships.
- This is a job where no two days are ever the same; you will see the full spectrum of psychiatry from enduring mental illness through to trauma, grief and distress
- You will work with supportive and caring colleagues within a close-knit team

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide quality clinical services to tāngata whaiora/people seeking wellness and their family/whānau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries
- As a clinical expert, you will ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the area of psychiatry, are applied to clinical situations and team decision making
- Participate in clinical partnership to ensure that tāngata whaiora/people seeking wellness and their family/whānau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care

We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu - Waikato. We provide specialist services for tāngata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties. We strongly encourage family/ whānau involvement in the recovery journey of their loved ones. As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday. We work with community partners across the Waikato.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- A Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- A versatile and flexible clinician who has a passion for working as part of a team
- A person who is excited about and willing to contribute participate in service enhancement
- A clinician who is passionate about eliminating health inequities
