Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Development Coordinator

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
In this role you will provide an
advisory role to the referral and assessment processes for children and young
people (ages 0-19) with a probable or recent diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum
Disorder (ASD). Your primary function will be to support whanau with
educational resources, advice, a care management plan and facilitating access
to the relevant support services ensuring the best pathway of care is
established for each child.
This is a permanent part-time position
working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6FTE) located in Nelson or Wairau with
district-wide responsibility. This will involve travel across the region on a
regular basis.

We are look for someone who is passionate, positive and has an appreciation of how Autism impacts tamariki and their families / whanau / carers.
A sound working knowledge of the New
Zealand Autistic Spectrum Disorder Guidelines and relevant New Zealand child
disability sector legislation and standards.
You will have an understanding of
Enabling Good Lives principles, work well with a multidisciplinary team and
foster relationships with community networks. You will need be able to work
autonomously with effective time management and organisational skills.
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification such as a degree in an Allied Health discipline or level 4 certificate or higher in Health and Wellbeing. In addition, you will ideally have experience working with people with Autism, paediatric health and disability field.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
