Working as a Sexual Health Registrar
By joining the Auckland Region as a Sexual Health Registrar, you will be joining an exciting sub-specialty. Surrounded by a team of experienced and supportive professionals, you will gain comprehensive experience in managing a range of cases and sexual health related conditions, including HIV. Auckland Sexual Health also provides gender affirming healthcare for transgender and non-binary clients. Although based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, you will also be working at the regional satellite clinics, which include Manukau , Glenfield and Henderson.

Medicine Registrar Runs
Medicine Registrar runs in the Auckland region are six months in length, following which you may rotate into a different run. Our training programme
Auckland Sexual Health is an accredited training site for the RACP, Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine. Presenting at journal clubs and participation in other departmental in-service meetings is expected as part of the job. Two non-clinical half days are allocated for knowledge development and for completion of administrative work associated with clinical cases. The training program is a minimum two year full-time rotation although it is usually completed in three years depending on previous experience. You may also attend national and international conferences relevant for training.
What makes you Eligible?
Applicants who are eligible to enrol in the Sexual Health Medicine training programme are encouraged to apply. An applicant must be a registered medical practitioner in Australia or New Zealand.
- Completion of an RACP Basic Training Program and success in the Written and Clinical Examinations OR
- Completion of a fellowship from another college.
OR
You may be a Senior House Officer that would like to gain experience in Sexual Health to contribute to your Medicine, O&G or GP training.
