CT Grade Medical Imaging Technologist 0.8 FTE Fixed Term

Rotorua Radiology department, is located in the heart of the North Island’s adventure region with copious outdoor activities such as; world class mountain biking, white water rafting, tramping and within an easy drive to the Bay of Plenty beaches and all that Taupō has to offer as well as skiing on Mt Ruapehu!!
We have a 0.8 FTE CT Grade MIT career break leave role to fill through to February 2025.
The CT service offers a wide range of examinations, including CTCA, Interventional, CTC and stroke imaging.
The role involves the oversight of 2 CT scanner, a Canon prime SP in our rural hospital site and a brand new GE Apex Elite at the Rotorua site. The Apex is planned to be installed early 2024 and you would be tasked with working with the GE Application specialist to set up and train staff on the new system.
This role also includes maintaining and developing protocols to support an IANZ accredited department, clinical management of referrals, and quality assurance. The successful applicant will also be required to participate on the afterhours CT roster.
Rotorua Radiology Department is fully equipped with Siemens DR &/or Philips CR in our General and Emergency departments, as well as Fluoroscopy, Theatre, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound services. There are two DR rooms, two DR mobiles and 2 Flat Panel C-arm for Theatre.
We have an in-house CPD programme as well as support for external CPD.

What you'll need:
- Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Imaging or equivalent
- Registration with New Zealand MRT Board with current Annual Practising Certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to positively engage with our patients and hospital staff.
- The ability and enthusiasm to learn and grow.
- The ability to participate in the on call and shift roster.
