Registered Nurse (casual) Murchison Hospital

- Casual position assisting with peak capacity and covering leave

Murchison is a rural service town, with a permanent population of approximately 1100, located halfway between Nelson and Westport (1.5 hours travel in either direction). During the summer Murchison becomes a destination for holiday makers seeking the great outdoors. Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
The Murchison Community Hospital and Health Centre provides an integrated service of Primary Health, In Patient and PRIME care. The Health Centre has 5 day a week GP or Nurse Practitioner clinics alongside daily Registered Nurse clinics. The Hospital has 6 aged care beds and 2 flexible beds. The flexible beds allow for assessment and observation, respite, palliative and rehabilitation care.
We have a casual position available primarily covering staff leave. Some forward planning and rostering will be available - when covering annual leave. However, it will be important that you have the flexibility to sometimes work at short notice across AM: 0700-1530, PM: 1430-2300, and Night 2245-0715 shifts.

Applicants must be NZ Registered Nurses with a current NCNZ practising certificate.
Post-registration experience in an acute or primary health care setting is preferred, although not essential. A Primary Response in Medical Emergency (PRIME) certificate, or an Advanced Life Support certificate is desirable.
