Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
With the growth of our team and service delivery within our busy CCU we offer the exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about cardiac nursing, has excellent communication and teamwork skills, and is committed to a safe patient journey. The RN position is responsible for the care of inpatients with cardiac and medical diagnoses. The position requires you to also work closely with highly skilled nursing colleagues to meet our service goals.
The successful applicant will receive comprehensive orientation as well as support to seek ongoing learning and development opportunities, and the expectation is to maintain a current PDRP. Ongoing support will also be provided by senior nursing team members, our Cardiac Educator, ACNM, and the broader cardiac team.
Work hours require fully rostered and rotating shifts.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
CCU is a 12-13 bed unit at Te Whatu Ora Hutt district whose primary role is to provide quality care for patients with acute diagnoses of: acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, and / or other acute cardiac and medical conditions. CCU also provides a telemetry cardiac monitoring system across multiple inpatient services within the hospital.
As part of the Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District we work in close partnership to provide for the needs of patients requiring cardiac investigation, treatment or surgery. Approximately 20% of patients move across hospitals. Our CCU team are part of a broader Cardiac Service which includes Cardiologists and Medical colleagues, Sonographers and Technical staff, Designated Senior Nurses (Outpatients), Cardiac Educator, and administration.
The CCU team is proactive and very positive, and supportive of staff development.
Moū - About you
You will be a NZ registered nurse, preferably with cardiac or relevant clinical nursing experience, and able to demonstrate professional commitment through PDRP recognition or equivalent. It is expected that you deliver the highest quality care for the patient/client/whanau, demonstrate excellent teamwork and work ethic, as well as be proactive in advocating for safe and effective discharge or transfer processes. This role will be busy and challenging, so someone who has resilience and a great sense of humour would really excel.
