Registered Nurse - A3 - General Surgery & Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU)

- Permanent full and part-time positions available, along with a part-time 0.9FTE parental leave opportunity until 1st May 2024.
- Ability to work rostered shifts in a multi-disciplinary team
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
Mō te tūnga - About the Role
Join us in Ward A3, the General Surgery and Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) ward. Work with a team that provides care for our acute general surgery patients, undergoing general surgical procedures within the ward environment and high dependency surgical patients in our 8 bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU).
Ward A3 is also a Dedicated Education Unit, therefore for staff wanting to be involved in the development of student nurses, this is an excellent opportunity.
Current opportunities inlcude;
- 1.5 permanent FTE
- Fixed term, part-time 0.9FTE covering parental leave until 1st May 2024

We are looking for an energetic nurse who is eager to strengthen and develop their skills. Ideally you will be
an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about Acute General Surgery and Progressive Care and can work collaboratively with the wider
multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care and improved patient
outcomes are attained.

Working in our large multidisciplinary team you can expect to work closely with and learn from our Surgeons, our Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, who are all experts in their specialties and who are focused on advances in surgical care that improve clinical outcomes.
- Recent acute surgical or medical experience preferred but not essential
- You will have effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Commitment to providing and maintaining high standards of nursing practice within our service is essential
