Volunteer Co-ordinator, Patient Management Services, Auckland City Hospital

- Permanent part-time (0.5 FTE, 20 hrs per week)
- Based at Auckland City Hospital
- Coordinate the development and engagement of Volunteer Services for the General Medical wards
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced project / people manager to provide support in recruiting, training and coordinating the volunteers in their role and involvement on the General Medical wards, the development of the volunteers’ role as well as promoting the engagement between volunteers and Allied health/Nursing staff for the ward(s).
In cooperation with the Manager Volunteering, you will help to seek cooperation between educational institutes and universities and Te Toka Tumai’s Volunteer Services with regard to student volunteer project engagement.
The role is for 20 hours a week spread over 5 days between 10.30am and 4.30/5pm in order to cover the two daily shifts between 10.30am and 1.30pm and from 4-7pm. Once a month there is an education evening from 6-7.30pm and every 4th Saturday from 10am-1pm.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience managing teams
- Competence in computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite
- A commitment to quality service delivery
Desired but not essential skills for this role include:
- HR/Project Management work experience
- Previous experience in managing volunteer or nonprofit service(s)
- Post-secondary education in social sciences, human resources, community development or adult education
- Some hospital/healthcare-based work experience or health qualification
