We are looking for a Social Worker to join our team at Nelson Hospital on a permanent casual basis covering staffing shortfalls. It will therefore be important that you have the flexibility to sometimes work at short notice. Some forward planning and scheduling will be available covering planned leave.

You
will be registered with the NZ Social Workers Registration Board. You will
ideally have experience working in a health setting, working as a part of a
multi-disciplinary team, and bring an understanding of the social determinants
of health, as well as the impact on health and social needs. You must be able
to work in a collaborative way, delivering client-centred practice from a strength - s
perspective. We are looking for someone with a good understanding of
bi-cultural social work practice, in addition to knowledge / experience with
violence intervention and prevention.
To be successful you will have outstanding interpersonal and
communication skills and lots of energy. The successful candidate will also be
innovative, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, and creative with a positive
approach to all situations including problem solving. Your ability to think on your feet and be experienced at working
under pressure with a solution focused approach will be advantageous.
