Pacific Health Community Coordinator

Fixed Term – 30 June 2024,

80 hours per fortnight (1.0FTE)

 

Te Whatu Ora - Te Matau a Māui Hawke Bay, Pacific Health Team are looking for a Pacific Health Community Coordinator to deliver community led initiatives for the Pacific Community Village Health and Wellbeing programme.  Key components of this work include:

 

Working Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.30pm with flexibility for evening and weekend work as and if required

 

Ensure community led health and wellbeing initiatives are coordinated and delivered in the Pacific community health and wellbeing programme

Oversee and coordinate the delivery of health outreach services in Pacific churches and community settings

Monitor and utilise data to enhance service delivery and form a base to further grow investment opportunities

Support immunisation, health promotion programmes and all health initiatives

If you like working with people, have a working knowledge of Pacific peoples, language and cultures, and excellent communication skills then we encourage you to apply.

 

What you will bring

 

You will need to be confident connecting and engaging across diverse Pacific communities and settings.  You will need to able to prioritise and manage time well.  You must be customer and community focussed.

 

You will also bring:

 

  • A sound problem solving/ solution focused approach
  • Proficiency in one or more Pacific language, as well as comprehension, written and spoken English
  • Commitment and understanding of Pacific cultural values, processes and principles
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively
  • Experience with the Pacific NGO sector would also be useful
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be useful
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • A full Drivers Licence
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory
