Te Toka Tumai is one of the largest maternity hospitals in Australasia, with approximately 6,500 babies born each year. We are a tertiary referral centre and the national referral centre for babies needing specialist surgery or medical interventions. We also provide primary maternity care to women in the Auckland area.
Whitinga ora pēpi is our 8 bedded Newborn Transitional Care Unit and we are looking for experienced midwives to join our team of Clinical Midwife Specialists.
As Midwife Specialist you will be:
- Supporting and guiding our midwifery and nursing staff across our inpatient areas
- Overseeing the management and admission-to-discharge planning specific for these whānau
- This role will cover a 24/7 service
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
The Clinical Midwife Specialist role is integral to the day to day running of Whitinga ora pēpi, where care is provided for whānau requiring specialist input including pēpi transitioning from NICU towards discharge home, and late pre-term pēpi needing expert support in breastfeeding.
We are looking for midwives with extensive knowledge and experience in:
- Postnatal care, care of the late preterm infant and care planning for the whanau
- Fulltime or part-time options available
