ENT & MaxFac Registrar - 2024 Training Year

There are exciting opportunities for Registrars to join Te Whatu Ora Hawke’s Bay in full time positions. Applications are invited for the position of non-training ENT or ENT/Max-Fac Registrars for next year commencing in February and/or August 2024. The ENT & Maxillo-Facial Department offer supportive working conditions and are committed to excellent teaching.
Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 400 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
The successful candidate will work within a team of 4 Consultant Specialistrs, 2 clinic specialty nurses and a house office. The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of inpatients under the care of the designated consultant, and also responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients referred to hoispital acutely with surgical problems. These may be patients referred for admission on acute days or be patientgs who have previously been care for by the team and whom has accepted for re-admission. We aim to provide training equivalent to ,or better than, a formal training position but this post is not accredited for training. This position should be prepare the successful candidate to be able to successfully aooly for a formal training post in the future.

Experience and Eligibility

Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3+ or above. A previous run in ENT is desirable but not essential.
