We are seeking applications for a Haematology Advanced Trainee Registrar post. The position is based at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand.
Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service
The Clinical Haematology service is part of the Regional Cancer Centre and includes substantial Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Palliative Care departments. The team of 9 haematologists works with 7 registrars (2 in Lab, 5 clinical) and 6 Nurse Specialists to provide first-class care to the multicultural regional population. Based at Waikato Hospital, a 600-bed tertiary referral centre, the team provides services in haematologic malignancies (including acute leukaemia, high-grade lymphoma and autologous transplantation in the inpatient service at Waikato Hospital), general and obstetric haematology, haemostasis-thrombosis and laboratory haematology. There is an active clinical trials programme.
The Waikato DHB Laboratory operates over 5 sites, performing a wide scale of testing and processing over 8 million tests per year. Laboratory services include 10 colour flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics and specialist coagulation testing for the wider Midland region. A full-time Haematopathologist leads the service with support from clinical colleagues.

Applicants must have an interest in Haematology, and be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand. It is possible to consider training in the joint FRACP/FRCPA program or the individual College programs.
