Nurse Practitioner (Full-Time), Mental Health & Addiction Services, Te Whatu Ora

1.0 FTE – Monday to Friday
This senior clinical position offers a great opportunity to enhance existing capability or develop and grow your skill and knowledge of quality improvement methods within clinical services. We strive to improve mental health services to meet the needs of our communities and reduce inequity and disparity.
The Nurse Practitioner will be expected to deliver, independently, accessible and high quality effective health care that is fully coordinated and integrated with other health services within the primary and secondary sector. The primary goal for the Nurse Practitioner will be to assist in improving client health and reducing health inequalities and clinical risk for service users with identified high risk and complex health needs by:
· Providing consultancy, clinical leadership and skilled advanced nursing practice in line with the NP competencies to assess, diagnose and treat service users and their whaanau families that access Mental Health and Addiction (MH&A) services.
· Demonstrating advanced nursing leadership and mentorship to RN colleagues, multidisciplinary teams, community health workers, and NGO colleagues.
Essential:
- NZ Registered Mental Health Clinician (Registered Mental Health Nurse -Proficient Portfolio working towards Expert Portfolio), Senior Allied Clinician.
- Clinically focused Masters’ degree in Nursing
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate with Mental Health scope of practice where appropriate
- A minimum of five years recent clinical experience at Expert level on the Senior Clinical Career Pathwayteam
- Full and Current NZ Driver’s Licence
- Experience in leadership roles within multi-disciplinary team
Preferred:
- Postgraduate qualification or working towards one
- Training in supervision
