Clinical Head (Histopathologist/Senior Medical Officer) - Anatomical Pathology

Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau District provides quality healthcare services to a large and fast-growing multi-cultural community in New Zealand's largest city, Auckland.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Histopathologist to join our well established, professional and friendly team at the Anatomical Pathology Department at Counties Manukau District as a Clinical Head.
This permanent full-time leadership position is based at Middlemore Hospital, an accredited, tertiary teaching hospital, providing acute admitting and referral services for most medical and surgical specialties. This Anatomical Pathology Department has a reputation for providing high quality pathology services, with participation in many multidisciplinary meetings, Breast, Colon and Cervical screening programmes and a Cytology service.
You will work with and lead a team of 18 Histopathologists and 5 Histopathology Registrars who are part of the Auckland Regional Training Programme. You will also work closely with the Charge Scientist, Histopathology and laboratory staff to maintain and further develop our high-quality service. Furthermore, you will be involved in the support and development of the regional harmonisation program to collaborate and deliver innovation and change within the regional Anatomical pathology service.
As the head of the department, you will have opportunity to spend dedicated time on leadership aspects of the role.

Essential:
· FRCPA or an equivalent specialist qualification is required
· Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council or be eligible for registration
· A current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZMC
