SPECIALIST ANAESTHETIC TECHNICIAN

We, at Te Whatu Ora Waitemata district, have consistently led the way with the development of anaesthetic technician practice. Specialist Anaesthetic Technician is a new and exciting role that will continue this journey.

We are seeking energetic, positive and highly motivated anaesthetic technicians with a minimum of six years post registration experience. You will have excellent communication skills and will fit seamlessly into our multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have; proven, developed skills and experience in ALL core competencies AND two extended scope competencies:

Core:

1. Cell Salvage (super user)
2. Co-ordination of staff both in and out of hours.
3. Emergency department, Resuscitation and patient transport

Extended:

1. PICC line insertion
2. PACU
3. Advanced Life Support trainer
4. Advanced ultrasound vascular access trainer
5. Surgical scrub
6. Pre-operative anaesthesia assessment clinics

You will be a vital part of our multi-site roster, providing highly skilled anaesthesia assistance, combined with the commitments of your specialist role.
