Administrator - ICU / Kaiwhakahaere

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital 

Service: Intensive Care Services   

Contract:  Permanent, part-time (20 hours per week)

Salary:  $67,932 to $75,480 per annum (pro-rata)

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We require an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to join the Administration team in the Intensive Care Services.  This is a part-time position responsible to the Nurse Manager and Clinical Director for the efficient and effective administration of the Intensive Care Unit.   

Some of your duties will include:

  • Actively assisting with managing administration systems and processes
  • Assisting the HR Administrators
  • Ward administrator support 

This role is worked 4 days a week between the hours of  9am - 2pm, however this is negotiable.

Wellington Regional Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the lower North Island and upper South Island of New Zealand. Our ICU department employs 250 staff who care for the dynamic health needs of the critically ill.  We operate in an inclusive culture where staff enjoy coming to work and know that they are valued.

The ICU has responsibility for delivery of care outside of ICU through our Patient at Risk Service, Trauma Team and Flight Service. 

Moū - About you

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with at least 2 years administration experience who enjoys working in a busy team environment. You will have an advanced level of Microsoft Office, an eye for detail as well as the ability to format written and numerical information effectively.  Experience within the healthcare sector is not essential as long as you have the relevant transferrable skills.  If you have excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills with a willingness to assist others in a busy environment we encourage you to apply 

Other skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of office administration systems and procedures
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Commitment to customer service
