Registered Nurse (Full-Time), Mental Health & Addictions, Te Whatu Ora

Rotating Rostered Shifts 

 

We currently have a vacancy for Registered Nurse within our MHSOP Inpatient Unit. 


Ward 43 is an acute inpatient mental health assessment ward for people aged 65 years and over and is located in Tiaho Mai at Middlemore Hospital. People present with a range of functional and / or organic problems and often have co-existing medical conditions. We work closely with the MHSOP community team aiming to deliver comprehensive and integrated care. 

As a registered nurse on Ward 43 you will be contributing to the development of Mental Health Services for Older People. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team assisting to deliver high quality care to our patients. 

Ward 43 is a teaching environment and within this all staff work with student nurses, additionally there are at times allied health and medical students. The ward also supports new graduate staff.

We are looking for NZ registered mental health nurses with an interest in mental health, depth of experience and strong nursing skills to provide effective acute inpatient treatment. If you have good communication skills, can work rostered duties and have the ability to work under pressure within a team environment we would love to hear from you. 

Experience in the area of acute mental health care or older adults with mental illness will be an advantage.

Essential 
• New Zealand Registered Nurse 
• Current Annual Practicing Certificate 
• Minimum 1 years post registration experience in Mental Health 
• Full and clean NZ Driver's licence
