Clinical Supervisor/Key Worker - CADS Opioid Treatment

CADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand covering the greater Auckland region from Te Hana in the North to Mercer in the South, providing services to a population of around 1.5 million people.

CADS provide free community based and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. Annually around 15,000 people access CADS for treatment and care. CADS are committed to empowering the community to discover healthier ways to use substances (harm reduction) and to promote recovery and wellbeing.

The CADS Opioid Treatment service is currently looking for a clinical supervisor/key worker to support the coordinated and proficient delivery of CADS services in the Auckland region for clients. This role includes a clinical caseload and the coordination of care for clients receiving medication treatment including opioids and benzodiazepines in primary or secondary care.

The position will be based at Pitman House in Pt Chevalier with some visits to CADS sites or primary care facilities, including pharmacies and primary care practices.

About you

You will have a good understanding of opioid treatment as an experienced professional (qualification in applied AOD studies, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields) registered with DAPAANZ or equivalent professional body with excellent communication, assessment, treatment, liaison and referral skills, who is seeking an opportunity to work in a cohesive well supported team and further develop your AOD expertise. Group work experience is highly regarded.

A sense of social justice and enjoying working with people in all their complexity is required. You will have a non-judgemental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a team.
