The Canterbury Regional Cancer and Haematology Service covers the needs of patients from Canterbury, Nelson/Marlborough, South Canterbury and West Coast Districts.  We offer specialist services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care.  We are predominantly an outpatient service and specialise in Paediatric Oncology and Gynaecological Oncology services for the South Island.

The service uses MOSAIQ for all scheduling as well as medical and radiation oncology delivery in Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Greymouth and Westport.  We are constantly seeking ways to improve our workflows and communications along the patient pathway whilst ensuring a high level of training and education is provided to the users of the systems.

Do you want to make a real difference employing your clinical and IT skills in a busy and diverse role?  The Canterbury Regional Cancer & Haematology Service at Christchurch Hospital is seeking a dynamic professional with a broad range of IT related skills to join our talented and enthusiastic team during an exciting period of growth.  We - re looking for a team player who is used to working with a wide variety of people, with abilities in sharing information and supporting the users with the utilisation of our MOSAIQ Oncology Information System and its integration with the ever-expanding hospital wide systems.

The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, love to solve problems, enjoy understanding how things work and capable of working collaboratively across several disciplines and teams in a health environment.  Your day-to-day operations will include trouble shooting application issues, supporting process improvements, training users, ensuring integration with the wider hospital systems and being part of a team where patient safety is paramount.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the maintenance, Quality & development of Oncology Information Systems is carried out to the highest standard
  • Integration of Mosaiq with Other CDHB Hospital information systems
  • Facilitate the upskilling of the department and new user set up
  • Developing oncology information systems in order to improve quality and efficiency of service delivery and documentation
  • Ensuring data input and collection meets CDHB, MOH and relevant regulatory requirements
