Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our surgical outpatient team that supports a variety of services including: general surgery, ORL, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, Orthopaedics, minor procedures and a preadmissions clinic.

You will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Outpatient, surgical, ophthalmoloy and/or pre-admission nursing experience (preferred)
  • A commitment to providing a quality service and being part of a high performing team
  • Versatility and flexibility
  • Current Registered Nurse registration and NZNC practising certificate
  • Post graduate qualifications or working towards.

This position would suit a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has great assessment and time management skills, is confident in their practice, can work autonomously and can relate well to a wide variety of stakeholders including patients, families and our multidisciplinary teams.

Every day is different, and our nurses enjoy the variety of work, the people they interact with, and the challenge of giving each patient the best customer experience, whilst ensuring that everything runs to schedule.

Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.

The full-time equivalent salary range if:

  • a RN is appointed, is $64,291 to $83,186.
  • an EN is appointed, is $54,432 to $62,847.

based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.
