This Internship position provides an exciting opportunity for Social Workers or Occupational Therapists to develop their skills in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand –Waitematā District in order to facilitate client lead change for Tamariki, Rangatahi and Whanau. There are multiple internship positions available for Occupational Therapist’s or Social Workers who are either new graduates or new to mental health.We are looking for self-motivated, compassionate, aspirational individuals who are seeking careers in child and adolescent mental health. Successful candidates will work as part of a team, while funding and support will also be provided to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences in Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health at The University of Auckland more information can be found here:
The internship positions are for 12 months starting January 2023 after which successful candidates will permanently join the Marinoto Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team in either West or North Auckland. Interns will have various opportunities to up skill within the Child, Youth and Family Portfolio which includes a number of specialist teams e.g. Marinoto CAMHS, Maternal Mental Health, Early Psychosis Intervention Team (EPI), Eating Disorders Liaison, STEPS-A DBT in Schools and Mātua Tūhonongā (Infant Mental Health). Te Whatu Ora - Waitemata District covers the North Shore, West Auckland and Rodney and clinicians are likely to be working across multiple sites.

We are seeking a strong commitment to the field, excellent time management skills and cross-cultural clinical practice, we are looking for an Occupational Therapist or Social Worker who will have a current Annual Practising Certificate by 2023 and who has previously worked with children and adolescents either as a volunteer, an employee or on student placement. A full and clean driver's licence is required.
