Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to work in our busy clinical trials service. The position that we are advertising is comprised of 8 hours per week allocated to Clinical Trials and 32 hours per week Rotational Pharmacist.
As the Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you would work closely with the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician, Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Unit and CCDHB Research Office, along with the associated wider team to support the Clinical Trial service and ensure appropriate use of resources for this service.
Specific role responsibilities include managing investigational drug inventory, providing technical direction and assistance with clinical trial protocols, undertaking investigational drug distribution activities, maintaining clinical trial information and assisting in the record keeping related to clinical trials as required by the study protocols.
As a Rotational Pharmacist, you would provide support in the operational, clinical and distributive areas of the Pharmacy. You would have the opportunity to deliver pharmaceutical care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including general medicine, surgical services, health of the older persons, intensive care, oncology & haematology. The role incorporates an operational component in the hospital pharmacy dispensary and aseptic production unit.

We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout the DHB, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, an aseptic production service and a quality & risk service. Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the DHB.
Moū - About you
You will be enthusiastic and have a passion for pharmacy and have previous hospital pharmacy experience. You will preferably have experience in clinical pharmacy practice in the oncology and haematology setting. Previous experience in clinical trials is desirable, but training can be provided for the right person.
