This is an opportunity to have an impact in preventing Family Violence in the WDHB community.
The Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) is a national Ministry of Health Programme developed to support clinicians in identifying and responding to Family and Intimate Partner Violence and Child Abuse and Neglect. As part of a small team based at Waitakere Hospital you will be working alongside and training clinicians across a number of services across the DHB.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Leading the DHB’s family and intimate partner violence intervention response
• Facilitating training sessions for clinicians within WDHB and providing ongoing support structures around identifying and responding to Family and Intimate Partner Violence
• Developing and maintaining effective key relationships with relevant stakeholders 
• Reporting Violence Intervention Programme statistics to the Ministry of Health and key services within the DHB
You will need to be culturally sensitive and have a sound understanding of the dynamics of family violence, gained in both hospital and community settings. You will also have participated in a family violence intervention programme and have experience with providing training.

Knowledge of community resources and well developed negotiation skills are essential as are the ability to prioritise, and develop good working relationships with a range of professionals. Previous experience with families dealing with family violence issues is desirable.
