Kitchen Assistant - Thames

Where you’ll be working: Thames Food Service
The details: Permanent Part-time, 60 hours per fortnight (0.75 FTE) rostered.
The Kitchen Assistant works alongside Cooks in preparation of patient, meals on wheels, and cafeteria meals in Thames. Approximately 160 meals are prepared on site each day.
Rostered duties are 0700 – 1530 hours or 1645 – 1945 hours.
Delivering meals to inpatient unit/emergency department and birthing unit along with providing tea/coffee services is undertaken by the Kitchen Assistant.
Applicants need to have good level of fitness as the position can be demanding – standing for long periods of time in humid conditions, pushing trolleys of food, lifting trays from trollies and walking to the departments, an eye for detail as is important with menu’s coming through, take pride in their work and a high level of cleanliness as the position as many cleaning tasks included.
Hourly rate commences at $21.90 per hour – penal rates for weekend/public holiday work applies, along with training in food safety for all applicants. Eligibility of NZQA qualification paperwork after 6 months employment.
