Salary: $62,671 - $80,292 pro rata
Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role
This is a part time, permanent position working in the Women s Health and Maternity inpatient services with patients aged 16 years and above. The successful applicant will complete psycho social assessments with woman and their whānau during the ante and post-natal period. Assessments will have a focus on the wellbeing and safety of their pēpi. Liaison with external agencies is required to establish plans of support and safety for the patients and their whānau. Close working relationships are needed with the other MDT professionals in the service to facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital. Other aspects of the role include working with whānau whose pēpi are born prematurely and admitted to the Neo Natal Unit, working with woman admitted to hospital for gynaecological treatment and covering the Women s Health Assessment Service.
The successful applicant will be able to work in situations where Family Violence is occurring, particularly Intimate Partner Violence and Child Protection. In these situations the social worker will undertake a risk assessment and safety plan utilising informal and formal supports to address these concerns. Also working across Wellington Hospital inpatient services on Saturday s on a roster basis is required.

We are a team who provides a service to patients and their whānau across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We complete psycho social assessments across the age range and provide holistic social work interventions. Come and join our friendly experienced team in a supportive workplace environment. We provide a Saturday service and you may need to work this on a roster basis.
Moū About you
You will be a NZ Registered Social Worker with a current practicing certificate, 3 years Social Work experience with at least 2 years experience within a health setting. The post holder will require excellent communication, documentation and time management skills.
