The Community Acute Service (CAS) provides comprehensive assessment and treatment options to Service Users and their whanau that require acute mental health care in the community.
As a key member of this professional, dedicated team, you’ll be assessing and managing the needs of Service Users that are referred to Cornwall house with an acute mental health presentation and increased risk. After solid orientation you will also be rostered to work into the Urgent Response Service offering urgent assessments for people presenting in a mental health crisis.
Experience in the adult mental health sector is required as well as your ability to demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills.
Experience in crisis/acute work within a community mental health team and being a Duly Authorised Officer would be distinct advantages. Ideally you will also have a working knowledge of Government agencies and NGO sector services relevant to community mental health.
This role is not suitable for New Graduate applicants.
You must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with a current Annual Practicing Certificate as well as a full and clean NZ driver's license.
This a permanent full time time role – 1.0 fte . You will be part of the CAS Roster (24/7 cover, 365 days a year), a fully rotating roster, Monday to Sunday, based at Greenlane Clinical Centre.
