About the role

As a Registered Nurse at Wakefield Hospital, you will provide exceptional patient care as part of a high-performing team in our Cath Lab.

You will:

• provide evidence-based nursing care for patients
• provide care in accordance with best nursing practices, company policies and in collaboration with the patient, their family and the wider healthcare team
• constructively critique new ideas, proposed changes and developments before adopting new evidence-based practices
• anticipate patient's requirements, discuss with medical colleagues, and organise necessary investigations and equipment
• maintain patient safety and integrity by anticipating and managing risks and potential complications in treatments, procedures and the surgical environment - including risks related to infection, positioning and restraint.

Your practice will be in line with the code of conduct and professional boundaries of the nursing professional body.

This is a permanent position for 64 hours per fortnight and is located at Wakefield Hospital in Newtown, Wellington.

About you

You will have excellent organisational skills, be flexible and open-minded, and successfully work within a team.

You will also demonstrate and have the following skills and experiences:

• Registered Nurse with current NZ Nursing Council APC
• Relevant bachelor's degree or Hospital based training
• At least two years nursing experience in a Cath Lab
• Minimum of two years experience working as a registered nurse in a New Zealand Hospital
• Knowledge of the best practice relevant nursing standards of care
• Understanding of health, disease, treatment and care of the human body, as well as computer literate
