Health Care Assistant - Ambulatory Paediatric service

Service:    Ambulatory Paediatric service- Child Health Service 

Contract:  Permanent Part time ( 0.8 FTE)

Salary:     MECCA steps 1-5 ( depending on experience)

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This role is based in Level 2 Te Wao Nui Children - s Clinics and is responsible for the support work to deliver outpatient clinics and procedures provided by the inter disciplinary team to children and their whanau. It is a shared role with an additional full time health Care Assistant.This role consists of multiple tasks  including preparation of files for clinics, growth measurements for  children attending clinic, stocking of rooms and ordering supplies and non nursing tasks 

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

Our team comprises of Nurses, Psychologists, Health Care Assistants, Administration clerks, Doctors and Surgeons who all have passion for working with children and their whanau.  We are now working in Te Wao Nui the new Children - s Hospital supporting clinic delivery in a large and welcoming space improving the outpatient experience for children and their families. 

Moū - About you

The ideal person for this role will have previous experience in a health care setting, will have plenty of energy and also enjoy a busy workplace with a diverse mix of people and roles. 

We are seeking someone who is able to multi task, can demonstrate motivation, is an effective communicator and has the ability to work with changing workloads. They will have confidence with computers and be able to work alongside the wider team, engaging with a diverse mix of children and young people and their whanau. The successful applicant must have completed the Level 3 Health Certificate or be willing to undertake this mandatory qualification. 

Please note you must be available to cover all shifts.
