Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We have a position available for an enthusiastic experienced hospital pharmacist based at Wellington Regional Hospital; this is one of 5 advanced rotational pharmacist roles that form part of the pharmacy clinical team, providing clinical services to some acute inpatient areas. The position is rotational, with rotations changing every 9 months. The rotations currently include:
- Emergency department and acute flow - clinical services to these areas
- Cardiology and Cardiothoracic inpatient pharmacist
- Pharmacy production, with some clinical service to Oncology and Haematology patients
- Intensive care
- Cover role - this role rotates and cover the clinical areas of roster as needed for planned leave, with the opportunity to train in specialist areas such as Mental health, Antimicrobial stewardship, Acute Health of Older People, Paediatrics and Neonatal clinical services.
This position would suit pharmacists with experience in hospital pharmacy, wanting to take the next step in their hospital pharmacy career.

The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation, and is constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care it delivers. We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout to the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, and a quality & risk service. There is also an aseptic production service at Capital & Coast Hospitals (Wellington & Kenepuru). Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District. Our teams value professional growth, and emphasizes clinical development and medicines optimization for our patients.
Moū - About you
We want to hear from you if you are an experienced hospital pharmacist wanting to take the next step in your hospital career. You will be self-motivated with a broad clinical experience, be able to work autonomously and innovatively, as well as having the ability to form good working relationships with the multidisciplinary team. You will need to be registered as a pharmacist in NZ, or eligible to register.
