Salary: $62,671 - $80,292 pro rata
Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role
The current Social Worker is leaving after many years, so a fantastic opportunity is available to join a dynamic team of health professionals at The Front of Whare at Wellington Hospital in the Emergency Department and the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit. This is a part time, permanent position working with patients aged 16 years and above.
Our Front of Whare team is evolving and now is the chance to be part of the change. We re developing from a multidisciplinary model of care to grow an inter-professional allied health team. Working collectively to address unplanned care with a patient focussed, problem solving approach, this team is all about pace and agility whilst maintaining high clinical standards.
You will work with a diverse group of patients with varying health needs. You will complete psycho social assessments with patients and their whānau to identify their support needs in regards to their health and discharge planning. Part of this role is working with patients who are experiencing Family Violence so the social worker will undertake a risk assessment and safety plan to address these concerns and utilise supports from external agencies. You may need to work Saturday s on a roster basis providing a service to the inpatient services.

We are a team who provides a service to patients and their whānau across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We complete psycho social assessments across the age range and provide holistic social work interventions. Come and join our friendly experienced team in a supportive workplace environment. We provide a Saturday service and you may need to work this on a roster basis.
Moū About you
You will be a NZ Registered Social Worker with a current practicing certificate, 3 years Social Work experience with at least 2 years experience within a health setting. The post holder will require excellent communication, documentation and time management skills.
