Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This position contributes to the delivery of an effective and efficient hospital pharmacy service in accordance with agreed standards for Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa District. The Pharmacy Service is a clinical support service with an integral role in providing health care to Wairarapa Hospital patients and pharmacy support to other health care professionals. The service is provided from the pharmacy department at Wairarapa Hospital.

This is a full time position working 80 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday, with the requirement to participate on the after-hours and weekend on call roster.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

We have an opportunity for a registered pharmacist to become part of our enthusiastic, dynamic and committed pharmacy team. The pharmacy service is a clinical support service with an integral role in providing health care to Wairarapa patients and clinical support to other health care professionals. You will be joining a team of six staff, with plenty of experienced in the service.

Moū - About you

As an individual will be expected to participate in a comprehensive range of activities at ward and dispensary level and to provide pharmacy support to the COVID vaccination programme, to help ensure an efficient and effective hospital pharmacy service for Wairarapa District Health Board.

Adaptability, being able to cope with a variety of duties, the ability to work alone as well as within a team and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. As the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate entry level clinical skills and knowledge or above. You will bring to this role, a high degree of accuracy, be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is desirable but not essential.

You will need to hold a current New Zealand Pharmacist APC.
